Classic design, a customer favorite!  We use this same pot here at the tea shop for sheng (green) pu'er and adore it!  Fast pour, great lines, feels great in the hands.  High-quality clay - thick and sturdy.  Tea-riffic for ripe or raw pu'ers, darker oolongs.  With loving care and the use of great tea, this pot will enhance your tea drinking experience for many, many years, deepening in color the more you use it!

The tea brake is flat-style (not ball type).  135 ml (4.7 ounces) capacity.  This pot comes with a Chinese-style gift box for storage, traveling or gifting.

Zisha clay is unique to the Yixing (eee-shing) area of China and has been used to make fine tea pots designed for Gong Fu (gung-foo) style tea brewing for centuries. The Zisha clay can be found in many colors and is amazingly strong. It is perfect for tea pots because it holds in heat for a long time and is also porous which allows brewing tea to breathe. Yixing pots will absorb the qualities of the tea that you brew within them and traditionally, one pot will be used for one type of tea or variety of tea. You will notice a change in coloration over time and this is a sign of a well seasoned Yixing pot. Well used Yixing pots are considered more valuable than brand new in Chinese tea culture. 

Gong Fu style tea brewing means using a large quantity of tea leaf to explore the tea over many short steepings. This brewing style really allows you to experience the complexities in the flavor of the tea and is a beautiful practice in skillful preparation which guides us toward inner awareness and feelings of peace. The purpose of Gong Fu is about creating tea that tastes great and nurtures the spirit.
