Black
Black tea (sometimes called red tea because of the color of the liquor) is simply a fully oxidized leaf. Once the leaf is crushed or bruised, the leaf is allowed to completely oxidize or brown. This process may take from 2 weeks to one month before the leaf is rolled and dried. Black teas are famous the world over with flavors that have a strong, malty presence and yet, depending on how they are brewed may have sweet and floral tones with amazing depth.
